What's New

A special thanks to: King County for their continued support in their 2007 budget for the Friends of the Trail Program, and to the King County    Waterworks Grant, REI, the United States Forest Service, Washington State Dept. of Natural Resources,  and Snohomish County.  Without these great contributions as well as many individual contributions, Friends of the Trail would not be able to do the important work of making Washington beautiful, clean, and safe, for everyone to enjoy.

The Olympic Coast follow up Clean Up was a success.  Hiking in and out and carrying trash on our backs, we removed approximately 11 cubic yards of debris that had been gathered from the original yearly clean up from Cape Alava, Oil City, and Third Beach.  Thanks to the help of REI and the National Park Service, we helped to keep our wild coast line clean and beautiful for all to enjoy.

Join us for volunteer opportunities in areas such as the Sultan Basin in Snohomish County, Lake Cle Elum & Kachess in Kittitas County, as well as the beautiful Middle Fork Snoqualmie River in King County to name a few.  We work 5 days per week—Wednesday through Sunday on a wide variety of projects.

Imagine this!  Friends of the Trail cleaned up over 1,200 tons of garbage from our public lands and waterways through the use of court appointed community service and volunteers work, since 1997 excluding appliances, abandoned vehicles, and tires.  Much of the garbage cleaned up is hazardous to our public areas and wildlife.  Much was removed directly from waterways.

If you would like to join us in a clean up or provide other volunteer assistance with outreach/education, please call, or e-mail.  We go out pretty much every weekend and many weekdays.  Hope to see you at the next one!
